چکیده

We built an integrated solid-contact ion-selective electrode (SCISE) system with the functionality of self-calibration. A multiplexed SCISE sensor (K+ and NO3− vs. Ag/AgCl) was fabricated on printed-circuit board (PCB) substrates subsequently embedded into a microfluidic flow cell for self-calibration flow-through analysis. PCB circuit that includes modules both readout fluid control developed. The sensors showed fast near-Nernstian response (56.6 K+ −57.4 mV/dec electrode) maintained their performance at least three weeks. also highly reproducible in automated two-point calibration, demonstrating potential situ monitoring. Lastly, successfully applied to measure mineral nutrients plant sap samples.

An optode sensor array for long-term in situ oxygen measurements in soil and sediment.

Long-term measurements of molecular oxygen (O) dynamics in wetlands are highly relevant for understanding the effects of water level changes on net greenhouse gas budgets in these ecosystems. However, such measurements have been limited due to a lack of suitable measuring equipment. We constructed an O optode sensor array for long-term in situ measurements in soil and sediment. The new device c...

In situ long-term monitoring system for radioactive contaminants.

A long-term in situ subsurface instrument for monitoring radioactive contaminant plumes, as an alternative to soil analysis, is described. A portable, laser-based reader optically stimulates luminescence from sensors, each containing an Al2O3:C dosemeter. The sensors, designed for placement at various subsurface locations around a waste site, are allowed to accumulate dose for a predetermined t...

CaliBree: A Self-calibration System for Mobile Sensor Networks

We propose CaliBree, a self-calibration system for mobile wireless sensor networks. Sensors calibration is a fundamental problem in a sensor network. If sensor devices are not properly calibrated, their sensor readings are likely of little use to the application. Distributed calibration is challenging in a mobile sensor network, where sensor devices are carried by people or vehicles, mainly for...

Design of a structured light sensor for in situ calibration

This paper highlights a ranging sensor that can be calibrated at standos of 1 to 3 feet with a depth of eld of 1 ft. Tests at a 16" stando have produced a 0.004 inch standard deviation in height measurement errors. The data density and eld of view are p r ogrammable. The sensor is positioned r obotically, allowing it to provide accurate, short-range measurements prior to manipulation tasks...

Measurement of long-term denudation rates in carbonate landscapes using in situ-produced 36Cl cosmogenic nuclide

ecent progresses have been made in the quantification of denudation of eroding landscapes and its links with topography. Despite these advances, data is still sparse in carbonate terrain, which covers a significant part of the Earth’s surface. We can now measure in situ-produced cosmogenic nuclides concentrations in various near-surface materials, allowing accurate quantification of the rates o...
